Jill and I have known each other for 25 years. We have played soccer, basketball, softball together. Went to elementary and high school together. And kept in contact over the years. We got together last night for our annual once a year dinner. She lives on the east coast, so maybe we will get a chance to see each other more often.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday!
The Carlson Family!
We have lots of family traditions, but these are some of the Christmas favorites...
going downtown Seattle to ride the holiday carousal and looking at Christmas lights,
reading the story of Jesus' birth and celebrating Jesus birthday with cupcakes
playing games...this year we played Uno Attack, Disney Scene it, Whoonu, Pinochle, Happy Feet, Boggle Jr and Buckaroo.
spending time together
making waffles
Conversations/situation this morning with Nicholas after he ate his breakfast.
Nicholas: "Potty Mommy"
Cindy: "You need to go potty?"
Nicholas: "Yes"
Cindy: "When you go on the potty like a big boy, you get a prize. Would you like a toy?"
Nicholas: "No"
Cindy: "If you don't want a toy, what do you want?"
Nicholas: "Breakfast hotdog"
So Nicholas went #2 today on the potty! Oh Happy Day! Its a start! :)
Today we went downtown Seattle with Kayla, Dillon, Dawson and Lita, my parents and my sister. The kids all sat on santas lap. Nicholas made it without crying...to much!

Last year my sister and I decided to start a tradition of baking cookies one saturday during the month of december. Today was the day.We baked cookies...5 different kinds
The boys enjoyed helping auntie.
We dyed our hair...darker and redish!
Uncle Greg came by and hung out. He and Andrew watched "Cars" and did puzzles.
I wasn't prepared for this one...although I knew it was coming.
When Nicholas (2 yrs in January) takes naps during the day he likes to sleep on "Andrews bunk", the top. Well last night Nicholas slept on the top bunk for bed. Chad and I thought that was fine, because he doesn't know how to climb down. Well, this morning he proved us wrong. He is fully capable of going up and down the ladder all by himself. His newest phrase is "I do it myself."
Last night Chad and I went out. It was great. We went to dinner at the Melting Pot restaurant. What a fun experience that is. Then we went to the Key Arena and saw that Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I have wanted to go to this concert for several years and received floor seats this year for my birthday. Thanks to all who helped make this evening possible.
Tonight Andrew and I spent some time together. We went out to dinner and went christmas shopping. We had a great time. As we were eating dinner this was one of our conversations...
Cindy: Isn't this fun, having time alone with mommy.
Andrew: Yup, without Nicholas.
Cindy: It is important to spend alone time with mommy and daddy.
Andrew: Without Nicholas.
Cindy: On wednesday night, mommy and daddy are going to spend sometime together. We are going out to dinner.
Andrew: to Ruby's?
Cindy: No. To a nice restaurant. Then we are going to a concert.
Andrew: Oh Wiggles!
Cindy: No
Tonight we (Chad, the boys and I) were at the store, Albertsons. Andrew and the cashier had a conversation:
Cashier: How old are you?
Andrew: 4 (holding up 4 fingers)
Cashier: Is santa coming to your house this year?
Andrew: No
Cashier: (with a concerned look) Why?
Andrew: He isn't real
This is the phrase Nicholas chants from the back seat of the car.
