Rejuvenation

Everyone needs time to rejuvenate! I know I did. Sunday I dropped the boys off with my parents for 2.5 days and I headed to Portland. Chad left Monday for California for 5 days. I was invited to stay at Mom and Dad Dorris' house in Beaverton. I knew that going there was going to be a great break from the hectic life that I am currently in the middle of, much time needed away and time to rejuvenate my heart and soul.

Sunday night, I spent time with Mom and Dad Dorris, Jim and Patty. I laughed so hard that at one point I was on the floor.

Monday morning I spent some time with Mom D, and I had a chance to cry. It was a good cry. I also had time set aside to spend with close friends; Melissa (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!), Allison and Laura. Thanks for a great day of laughs! These are all people who know me and who I can be real with.

Tuesday I had a quite morning and enjoyed a little "retail therapy" (shopping with NO tax). I got to have lunch with Jim, Chad's best friend.

I so enjoyed my time away. Thank you to all who had a part of my rejuvenation!

Adventures in Seattle

Today we had the opportunity to go visit Mark at the fire station in Madison Park, near where my dad used to have his gas station. We all had a great time learning about the fire station and the "pumper" truck. Nicholas kept saying, "excuse me Mark, is this a pumper truck?" The boys were interested in how everything worked. Thanks Mark for the tour.

We also went to Volunteer Park in Seattle. We played at the playground and saw the Space Needle.

Lynn-wood

Conversation with Andrew:

Andrew: Mom are we in Edmonds?
Cindy: No
Andrew: Are we still in Washington?
Cindy: Yes, we are in Lynnwood?
Andrew: Does Lynnwood have lots of wood?

Family Getaway to Birch Bay

We just got back from 4 days away with some friends of ours, The Foree Family. The eight of us stayed in a condo at Birch Bay. It was great. We spent our days playing at the beach, going to the pool, playing Settlers of Catan, reading stories. The dads went to a driving range and the moms spent some alone time by the pool. It was a relaxing getaway for all of us. Click on our link to our photo album to see more pics of our adventure.

Its an Edmonds kind of day...

Today Andrew had t-ball. He had a great game. Thank you to his cheering section for coming.

After the game we went to the Edmonds Saturday Market. We saw lots of fun craft ideas, beautiful flowers, vegs, and more. I got a mother's day gift (solid rock pots) from my mom and Chad. They have natural holes in them to let the water drain out.

Then we went to lunch and to the beach. The boys loved spending time with Nana and Pom Pom.

Comments by Andrew...

This morning driving to school:

Andrew: We woke up late this morning.
Cindy: Yes we did. After you go to bed, mommy has lots of work to do around the house, so I stay up late.
Andrew: Yah, Daddys go to work and Mommys do laundry.

Yesterday after reading a story about firemen to Andrew:

Cindy: If you have any questions about firemen you can ask Mark. (A friend from college)
Andrew: Thats a good idea. Mark knows lots about that. But Julie (Marks wife) doesn't.
Cindy: She doesn't?
Andrew: No, she knows about mommy and girl stuff.

Can you believe...

that it is warm enough to play in the pool. Well at least Andrew thinks it is. We added hot water to the pool, so it is comfortable. He told me he needed to practice swimming. We are going to Birch Bay for 4 days next week, so he is excited to swim in the pool there.

Date with Andrew

Today was a special day at Pre-K. The class celebrated Mother's Day. The moms got to come and join the class during snack time. I got to do a special project with Andrew. He also presented me with a special picture and a plant. It was cute and a fun time to be one on one with him.

Baby Octopus

The boys and I went to the beach this afternoon! It was BEAUTIFUL. We are sure going to miss Edmonds. The tide was really far out so we went exploring. By the rocks we saw this baby octopus. Super cool. I took the picture with my phone. Not bad.

Happy May Day!

Light bulb moment...

I just realized a couple of things about Nicholas. I know maybe a slow, but here they are...

#1 For the past several nights Nicholas has taken his diaper off in bed, and then gone pee, yes in bed. Makes for a lot of laundry. Maybe he is ready to use the potty.

#2 Yesterday Nicholas took 2 baths and sat in the hot tub. Just this morning he has taken a shower and now been in the bath tub for an hour. Maybe he is ready for swimming lessons.
