Carlsons on the Move...

Everyone needs time to rejuvenate! I know I did. Sunday I dropped the boys off with my parents for 2.5 days and I headed to Portland. Chad left Monday for California for 5 days. I was invited to stay at Mom and Dad Dorris' house in Beaverton. I knew that going there was going to be a great break from the hectic life that I am currently in the middle of, much time needed away and time to rejuvenate my heart and soul.

Sunday night, I spent time with Mom and Dad Dorris, Jim and Patty. I laughed so hard that at one point I was on the floor.


Monday morning I spent some time with Mom D, and I had a chance to cry. It was a good cry. I also had time set aside to spend with close friends; Melissa (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!), Allison and Laura. Thanks for a great day of laughs! These are all people who know me and who I can be real with.


Tuesday I had a quite morning and enjoyed a little "retail therapy" (shopping with NO tax). I got to have lunch with Jim, Chad's best friend.

I so enjoyed my time away. Thank you to all who had a part of my rejuvenation!

We just got back from 4 days away with some friends of ours, The Foree Family. The eight of us stayed in a condo at Birch Bay. It was great. We spent our days playing at the beach, going to the pool, playing Settlers of Catan, reading stories. The dads went to a driving range and the moms spent some alone time by the pool. Today we had brunch with friends at our house. It was fun to watch all of the kids play together. We gave them each Easter baskets filled with stuff and then had a Easter egg grab. They had fun collecting eggs. Some of the kids went for certain colors and others picked up as many as their basket could carry.
The kids came in the house ready to go, and Andrew said, "lets all say Easter baskets", so they put their hands in the center and said Easter baskets and raised their hands up. It was cute.

7 of the 8 kids, Jadyn, Karina, Noah, Karissa, Analia, Andrew and Nicholas. Tobin was busy!

Tonight Jim asked Patti to be his wife. And of course she said, "YES"! We are so excited for Jim and Patti.

I remember telling Chad back in 2001 that Jim needed to date Patti because she would be perfect for him. This photo of Jim and Patti was taken back in 2001.

Andrew and I left at 12:50AM...fun flight for me, Andrew slept the entire way. When we landed he asked why we hadn't moved and wondered if the plane was broken.

We went on a froze pond and played. Fun times!

Andrew and Tilly, age 3 played dress up a bunch! Super cute!

We drove into Wisconsin for cheese, but ended back in Minnesota for more cheese.

Andrew and Austin go to school together and enjoy having play time together outside of school. Today was such a beautiful spring day. They enjoyed bouncing, playing Geo Trax trains, and riding bikes.
