Why are we moving?

If you ask Andrew why we are moving to New Orleans...this is the response you will get.

Cindy: Andrew, why are we moving to NOLA?
Andrew: We are going to be missionaries.
Cindy: What is a missionary?
Andrew: It is someone who tells people about Jesus.

If you ask Nicholas the same questions, this is his response...

Cindy: Nicholas, why are we moving to NOLA?
Nicholas: Going to be missionaries.
Cindy: What is a missionary?
Nicholas: tell Jesus about people

Projects

Today we spent time at my sisters house. They are in the process of tearing up their carpet and hardwood floors and getting it ready for new hardwood floors. They are getting their house ready to sell as well. Chad went down to help. The boys helped as well.

Breakfast Nicholas style...

Anyone who knows Nicholas knows that he likes to eat. This morning he ate at the counter in the kitchen and had his normal fruit, and asked for pepperoni which was fine. He had finished his breakfast. I then found him sitting at the table eating Chads bowl of cereal. He was eating it but making a big mess at each spot, so he kept moving around the table where it was clean! (Click the photo to really see his mess!)

Sunny Monday!

Andrew, Nicholas and I had a great day exploring. We started our day at Saint Edwards park and a picnic lunch. This is an amazing park with lots of places to climb and hide, swing and slide, along with playing in the sand. It was a beautiful day for playing outside. They were done with the park but weren't ready to go home, so I got the bright idea to go feed the ducks at Country Village. Well they don't seem to do that anymore, so we found the play area there and saw that the train was running. Andrew and Nicholas had a great time on the train. We also stopped by the church to hang out with Chad, as he was cleaning out his office and the youth house.

Andrews observation...

Today Chad worked a side job. He told Andrew that he was going to spend the day swinging a hammer and working on bathrooms. Andrew looked at him and said, "Dad, you don't do that job anymore. You sit in an office and talk to people."

Lazy afternoon

We had a busy and cold morning with t-ball from 8-10:30am. So when we got home we ate lunch and then cuddled on the couch to watch a movie. I fell asleep and Nicholas joined me. Andrew was sneaky and grabbed the camera.

Perfect evening...

Tonight we had several options for things to do. One plan fell through and the other we didn't feel much like doing, so instead we stayed home and enjoyed the evening in the backyard. We played catch with Andrew, blew bubbles with Nicholas and we sat around the fire burning leftover peeps from Easter.

Who knew...

you could have so much fun with a roll of adding machine tape.

a 2 and 4.5 year old could play with a pack n play for over an hour!

I am babysitting a little boy this week who is a year younger to the day than Nicholas. His parents are missionaries who are in training this week with Action International. They are from the east coast and needed someone to watch their son. Andrew and Nicholas are having a great time playing with him. Nicholas is enjoying being the older boy and being a big helper.

2nd Attempt!

Tonight we signed another offer on our house. Since Chad is in California, we had to fax papers down to him to finish the process. We should find out tomorrow sometime if everything is good. It was a full price offer and we are excited about that, with a closing date of June 1st.

Double Header...he's only 4!

Today was Andrew's first t-ball game, I mean games. Yes he had a double header. He had a great time and did really well. All of the kids get to bat each inning and they get to play, I mean stand in different positions, I mean spots on the field. He is #16!

Thank you to the Linhart family for supporting Andrew's debut!

Easter at the Carlsons

We gathered at our house. We ate, some slept, had an egg hunt for the kids, played games, took a family photo (minus Lita, my sister in law who was working) and enjoyed each others company.

Saturday

Today we had brunch with friends at our house. It was fun to watch all of the kids play together. We gave them each Easter baskets filled with stuff and then had a Easter egg grab. They had fun collecting eggs. Some of the kids went for certain colors and others picked up as many as their basket could carry.
The kids came in the house ready to go, and Andrew said, "lets all say Easter baskets", so they put their hands in the center and said Easter baskets and raised their hands up. It was cute.

7 of the 8 kids, Jadyn, Karina, Noah, Karissa, Analia, Andrew and Nicholas. Tobin was busy!

On your marks...get set...
GO!

Sad day...

Chad received a call this evening that the couple who put an offer on our house have now pulled out. We don't really know anymore than that. So we are back to square one and waiting for the right couple/family. God knows and we need to be willing to wait for His timing. We are sad, but not out.

Offer

The offer was accepted this morning by the couple interested in our house. So we now wait for the inspection and the financing to come through. Once that is done, we prepare to move out of our house by May 1st. We are excited about the couple (this is their first home) and we are looking forward to our next steps as we prepare to leave for New Orleans this summer.

No Foolin...

We had an offer placed on our house this evening. It wasn't exactly what we had wanted, so we made a counter-offer. We shall see what happens tomorrow. If all goes well we might be homeless by May 1st!

Super Sunday!

What a fun day we had with Nana. The boys and I met my mom in Seattle and went to the Pacific Science Center and the Seattle Children's Museum. The boys loved seeing the butterflies and playing in the water at the science center. They were also excited to see the Bob the builder exhibit and play the musical instruments at the children's museum.

We also went to a party and Andrew really enjoyed playing air hockey. And we ended the day with swimming at Great Nana's house.

It was a Super Sunday!
