Everyone needs time to rejuvenate! I know I did. Sunday I dropped the boys off with my parents for 2.5 days and I headed to Portland. Chad left Monday for California for 5 days. I was invited to stay at Mom and Dad Dorris' house in Beaverton. I knew that going there was going to be a great break from the hectic life that I am currently in the middle of, much time needed away and time to rejuvenate my heart and soul.
Sunday night, I spent time with Mom and Dad Dorris, Jim and Patty. I laughed so hard that at one point I was on the floor.
Monday morning I spent some time with Mom D, and I had a chance to cry. It was a good cry. I also had time set aside to spend with close friends; Melissa (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!), Allison and Laura. Thanks for a great day of laughs! These are all people who know me and who I can be real with.
Tuesday I had a quite morning and enjoyed a little "retail therapy" (shopping with NO tax). I got to have lunch with Jim, Chad's best friend.
I so enjoyed my time away. Thank you to all who had a part of my rejuvenation!
The count down is on...
9 days left in our house in Mountlake Terrace!
39 days left in the Edmonds area!
17 days that the boys and I will spend in Centralia!
49 days until Chad leaves for New Orleans
56 days until the boys and I leave for New Orleans!

Today we had the opportunity to go visit Mark at the fire station in Madison Park, near where my dad used to have his gas station. We all had a great time learning about the fire station and the "pumper" truck. Nicholas kept saying, "excuse me Mark, is this a pumper truck?" The boys were interested in how everything worked. Thanks Mark for the tour.
We also went to Volunteer Park in Seattle. We played at the playground and saw the Space Needle.
Andrew is learning the books of the bible. He is convinced that the first couple of NT books go like this:
Matthew, Marb, Blue, John...

We just got back from 4 days away with some friends of ours, The Foree Family. The eight of us stayed in a condo at Birch Bay. It was great. We spent our days playing at the beach, going to the pool, playing Settlers of Catan, reading stories. The dads went to a driving range and the moms spent some alone time by the pool. It was a relaxing getaway for all of us. Click on our link to our photo album to see more pics of our adventure.
We are having a great time in Birch Bay, WA with our friends, the Foree Family.

Today Andrew had t-ball. He had a great game. Thank you to his cheering section for coming.
After the game we went to the Edmonds Saturday Market. We saw lots of fun craft ideas, beautiful flowers, vegs, and more. I got a mother's day gift (solid rock pots) from my mom and Chad. They have natural holes in them to let the water drain out.
Then we went to lunch and to the beach. The boys loved spending time with Nana and Pom Pom.

This morning driving to school:
Andrew: We woke up late this morning.
Cindy: Yes we did. After you go to bed, mommy has lots of work to do around the house, so I stay up late.
Andrew: Yah, Daddys go to work and Mommys do laundry.
Yesterday after reading a story about firemen to Andrew:
Cindy: If you have any questions about firemen you can ask Mark. (A friend from college)
Andrew: Thats a good idea. Mark knows lots about that. But Julie (Marks wife) doesn't.
Cindy: She doesn't?
Andrew: No, she knows about mommy and girl stuff.

that it is warm enough to play in the pool. Well at least Andrew thinks it is. We added hot water to the pool, so it is comfortable. He told me he needed to practice swimming. We are going to Birch Bay for 4 days next week, so he is excited to swim in the pool there.
