Today Andrew (age 4.5) went skiing for the first time with his Auntie Bekah and Uncle Jarrod to Crystal Mountain. He just walked in the door at 9:15pm and he was beaming with excitement from his day. We bombbarded him with questions. Some of his responses were:
Yes, I had fun.
I got a ski pass.
I went up the Discovery chair 8 times and went up Tinkerbell once.
Yes, I did fall some.
I got a ski pass.
No, I didn't throw snowballs at auntie.
Yes, I did eat snow.
I got a ski pass.
Thanks again Auntie Bekah and Uncle Jarrod for spending the day with Andrew and helping him learn how to ski!

My oldest brother Greg turned 38 today! It doesn't seem possible that he is nearing the BIG 4-0!
Hope you had a great day and didn't have to work tonight!

This morning a friend came over to pick up Chad. He walked in the door and Nicholas looked at him and said, "I don't like him!"

Sweet Nicholas! He is such a happy energetic kid. No major accidents yet, but I am sure glad he enjoyes wearing a helmet, because he needs one.

Well this evening was a hard one for the Carlson Family. Tonight we said our first of may good-byes! Ginger and Clover are now in a new home. The family is from our church and has promised to keep the boys informed on how the cats are doing. A little history on Ginger and Clover. Chad and I got them when they were 8 weeks old. They lived with us at our condo in Lynnwood, transitioned to Lake Retreat in Ravensdale, moved back to Edmonds to live at my parents house, and joined us as we moved to Mountlake Terrace. Ginger and Clover adjusted well to lots of people coming through their house as well as adapting to little boys who LOVED them to pieces. They have been such fun cats with tons of personality: playing fetch, drinking out of the fauct, meowing when you sneeze, sleeping under the covers and many other unique things.
Thank you to the Lazaro Family for caring for our Ginger and Clover. Enjoy them.

Today the boys and I went to the Seattle Children's Museum. They enjoyed playing there and seeing the new exhibits. Bob the Builder is the newest addition.

Part of the moving process includes finding a new home for Ginger and Clover. So, if someone knows anyone who is looking for two great indoor, domestic short hair, de-clawed, kid friendly, healthy, fun loving cats let us know.

Today Nicholas, 2 years, asked if we lived in a new house. To him it seems we do, since we have all new white doors. A special thanks to Dad, Bruce, and Oscar for helping Chad out with this project. Much appreciated.

able to deal skillfully and promptly with new situations, difficulties, etc.
Nicholas is very resourceful. This morning I asked him to turn off a light and this is what happened.
He tried to turn off the light. "Mom, I can't reach it". He left the room and came back with a small glass bowl. He tried to stand on it, "that not working". He picked up the bowl and took it back to the cupboard. He got a larger bowl and tried again. "that not working." So he tried again with a bigger bowl. "it worked...my do it myself"

Today Chad and I, along with the boys, and a friend, worked in our yard. Chad and our friend pressure washed the roof of the garage and the house. Chad also did some other misc projects. The boys helped me shovel gravel. By 7pm, Andrew and Nicholas were worn out. Chad went in their room at 7:15 and they were both asleep!

Today Andrew's preschool class went to Albertsons grocery store for a field trip. It was educational and fun! Did you know that lobsters need to burp? Things you find out on a preschool field trip! The best part for the kids was getting to scan items and make the food move on the belt at the check out stand. The first photo is of Andrew and his buddy Austin.

This afternoon we took a walk around Audubon park. It is like Greenlake in WA, large park with a walking/running path, public golf course, pond with ducks and geese, and several playareas.
